Last weekend was pretty good. It was the first time in a while that I actually had two days off. I spent one of those days with Nickel which was BUNCHES OF FUN! lol. She had a case of Twitches (hehe, only Nickel will get that one). Monday we went to Goodwill with Daniela, my mom, and my cousin Josh. Danny and Nickel spent the whole time picking out ridiculous stuff for me to try on. I actually tried on the leather pants so they would stop. It was funny though.
Report cards came out and I was uberly happy with mine, but I was kind of shocked because my English grade was higher than either my Chemisty grade or my Physics grade. I figure if I keep up the hard work, I might just move up a couple more spots in class rank. I'm not sure how high I'll get before I graduate, but I'm pouring myself into my schoolwork now like I haven't done the past two years.
Practice went okay this week. Katie addressed some of the problems I'd been having so I wasn't so angry... just bored part of the time. Picking on Andrew is fun though. I can't believe we only have two more weeks until state and we still have so many things to do to our show: visuals, props, cleaning drill. I just hope we get everything running smoothly by Nov. 5th.
I love learning. Some of the front ensemble people are teaching me how to play mallets. So far I know about 5 or 6 warm-ups (one I don't know the end to, but it sounds cool and it's really long), and I've tried sightreading once (wow, that was a disaster). I kind of want a small set of bells or something so I can practice at home once marching season is over, but then I'm going to be practicing my booty off on clarinet. *sigh* Plus I need to start relearning tenor sax. *double sigh*
The football game Friday was uber fun because it was 8th grade night. I didn't try to meet everyone in my section this year because I figured I would forget all of the names by Rookie Camp anyways. So instead I got to know one of the girls pretty well, and talked to about 3 other new people for a little bit.
Center of the Universe Quiz:
What is my favorite subject in school?
a) I don't have a favorite; I love everything because I just love to learn.
b) History; it's just so INTERESTING to see where we come from
c) Science; totally hands on and lots of group projects; who WOULDN'T love it?
d) Math; logical and nonsubjective; woot, I can tick off my teachers and they still can kill my grade.
e) English; I can think whatever I want to as long as I have something to back it up with.
