God sent MONEY!!!!

Ok, so I've been sitting here trying to figure out how to afford meds and groceries - yeah, we're that tight this month. Someone (a family member I won't name) was supposed to send us $400 he owes us and he putzed and we won't be getting it until next month and it totally screwed us.

The mail just came and not only was there a cheque from one of my sisters (this I was expecting from Christmas, and it would almost cover my meds), but there was a cheque from the Ontario Disability Support Program (I'm on government disability because of my migraines). This I wasn't expecting.

See, a couple of weeks ago they approved Stuart for going on disability (because of his nervous breakdown) but I got a letter saying that they were taking his backpay he would have been owed and using it against our "overpayment" (long, complicated story). I wasn't expecting anything.

We're fine!

I was trying to figure out how to get my meds sitting at the pharmacy without costing us any further groceries and God sent us money!

I was looking at hiking with Cubs on Saturday in running shoes in the snow because I can't afford boots and God sent us money!

Oh, and did I mention that Clinton started to walk today?

He walked from the living room to the kitchen and didn't realize what he was doing until he got to the kitchen.

He's very stiff and awkward and looks odd, but he says it didn't hurt. I'm encouraging him to walk little bits around the apartment, but I've suggested he use the chair when we go on our afternoon walk so that he doesn't overdo it. He's probably going to need physio (the doctor thought he might), but we were starting to wonder whether we were looking at months in a wheelchair.

I'm still expecting we may have more setbacks as we lower the dosage on his prednisone, but at least we're getting noticeable improvement now.

I guess you could say I'm feeling a bit better now! Sometimes I feel so foolish about worrying when things come together like this, but for now I'll just be grateful.
