“What in the name of Willie Nelson is Ratchet doing?”
There must be something liberating in the air of Amsterdam, mused Prowl. Normally Ironhide would fervently deny being obsessed with country music. Normally Ratchet would not be swaying and stamping to a technicolour beat that lazily pierced the air before receding as the local red-and-yellow ambulance languidly passed by playing its hypnotic trill. In fact, normally he would not be smiling.
The group had slowly dwindled over the day. Optimus Prime had remained in the Rijksmuseum to soak up the local culture, and Bumblebee had lingered in a sex show ostensibly for the same reason. Beachcomber, Groove and Perceptor had been in a coffee shop for the last three days and they hadn't seen Bluestreak for almost as long. The current theory put forward by Jazz was that he had fallen into a canal. No-body knew where Tracks was and most were too afraid to look, though Prowl could not understand why.
First Aid did attempt to explain it to Prowl, but gave up after half an hour and accepted one of the cakes that Hoist was handing out. First Aid always tested the chemical composition of everything he was given to consume. This time he figured it would be worth it to eat it anyway. Marijuana was supposed to have pain killing properties and after talking with Prowl that long he would have tried trepanning. He wasn't surprised that it was Hoist who was handing out the magic cakes, he had never trusted Hoist's constant jovial demeanour. Anyone that helped people that willingly had to have malicious intentions.
First Aid started to wonder how he'd become so cynical so young, but a glance at his mentor explained that. Even if Ratchet was currently giggling and nearly falling over while being supported by Wheeljack. Wheeljack himself wasn't too steady on his feet, and the two of them together looked like a lopsided inverted "v". If one of them even attempted to stand up straight they'd probably both fall in the canal.
First Aid did think that it was unusual and rather sweet to see Ratchet and Wheeljack so giggly and clingy, but Ironhide just rolled his eyes and pushed them over. Into the canal. Inferno had to go and pull them out, which was ironic as he and Red Alert had been acting in exactly the same fashion with no objections. The funny thing was, no one could remember them sampling any of the local substances.
Red Alert later claimed that someone had spiked his fuel tank. First Aid forbore from commenting that the only person who would bother was Inferno.
The trip appeared to be a resounding success. Even Huffer was enjoying himself, he had found a very pretty young lady who, though unusually dressed, seemed very willing to sit and listen to him grumble for hours on end. However the nicest thing about Amsterdam was probably the fact nobody seemed to think a road vehicle transforming into a twenty foot robot was anything unusual.
