So, for anyone at all who is interested - I'm now no longer a resident on India. Yes, I, Devanshi Bhavsaar am legally a resident of The Republic of Singapore.
GAH.
It's not like I didn't want to move. I wanted to. But I also -didn't- want to move at the same time. I don't know how to explain it. Maybe I'm just weird. *grabs phone book* *flips through pages* Therapist, therapist. Hmmmm.
Since I am bored right now, I'm going to come up with lists of things I like and dislike about Singapore.
(Edited: 27 March '08)
Things I like :
- They have amazing food. When you go to the right place.
- I can walk down the road without having perverts gawk at me.
- There aren't many girls who dress the way I do. It makes me feel unique.
- The crime rate is practically zero.
- I'm allowed to go down to the pool in my building at whatever time of day/night.
- Chocolate chocolate chip muffins are widely available.
- They release the good movies on the actual release date.
- It's cleaner.
- The library (movie and otherwise) is huge.
- Decent bands (read : bands I like) actually play here.
- I can travel almost anywhere I want on my own.
- The local music scene is pretty cool.
- Lime and fIRST magazines, bebe! ^_^
- The weather is tolerable all year round; it rains almost everyday.
- The beach is clean and devoid of people after 6 pm.
- Bugis Street.
- Topshop.
- The abundance of malls = me being able to shop like crazy.
- Starbucks.
- I *can* rent adult movies. Bwahaha.
Thing I dislike :
- They don't let me into 'adult' movies.
- I can't buy alcohol.
- I can't buy Hukkah.
- Bugis Street reeks of Durian. Durian smells awful.
- Some of the food places sell really terrible/disgusting foodstuff.
- ALL THE GUYS LOOK THE BLOODY SAME DAMNIT.
- I missed My Chemical Romance and they're probably not coming back anytime soon.
- Pronouncing street names is a bitch. For example; Jln is Jalaan but Kg is not Koong. NO FAIR!
- I left my favorite teddy bear behind! ;_;
- Most places are too crowded.
- The temperature gradient rises instantly as you leave a shop/bus/car/taxi/subway/mall/eatery/underpass/overpass/building and enter the outdoors. Or the basement.
- Most stuff is too expensive.
- It makes me pass racist comments. (Remember bullet point 6?)
Shit, I can't think of anything else as of the moment.
