Who: Zack, Zero, Rufus, (Others?)
When: Late night 8/21-early morning 8/22
Where: The Lantern diner
Warnings: Possible language, but nothing else
What: Zack's been sitting on the truth of Elena's kidnapping for far too long.
The whole thing made Zack feel vaguely uneasy. He had thought Reno and Tifa were just cutting him out because they didn't want him involved - because it was too dangerous. He had thought they were taking care of the problem. But when three months passed and Elena still hadn't returned to Clairbourn - and after a few weeks of not hearing from Tifa or Reno either - Zack decided it was probably time to take things into his own hands.
The police wouldn't be any help at all - the shooting had made the front page, of course, this being Clairbourn. Elena's car had been impounded, her gun confiscated pending investigation, but nothing had ever come of it. Clairbourn PD released the car back to Elena's parents and Zack figured the case had been filed somewhere in the back of the filing cabinet, forgotten.
"Zack? You have customers in your section." Gary pointed over to the couple who had just sat down, and Zack stopped sorting silverware to go over and take their drink orders. He rounded the corner too fast and flinched as he whacked his hip on it. Too high-strung. Calm down. He took a deep breath, ignoring Gary's concerned glance, and threw on a cheerful smile for the customers.
Hopefully, they'd show up. If not... if not, he wasn't sure what he was going to do.
