On Thursday, I ended up without classes, due to a death in the faculty of the Communications Dept here at school, so, of course, I sleep in... Go to take a shower about noon, figuring on going to lunch after I get done there... About...10-15 minutes after I get out of the shower, my phone rings, and it's mom telling me they're outside my dorm right now. A little bit odd.. I usually see them on Thursdays, but generally not until about 5-6pm, so I'm kinda wondering whats up and all. So, I head down there, and mom has gotten out and puts her arm around my shoulders. More odd behavior, my mom and me aren't the huggiest with each other as a general rule of thumb and all.
It turns out, my grandmother passed away in the night. Sometime around midnight/early morning. Quite unexpected. The lady who helps us take care of grandma had gone in to check on her around 10am or so that day, and..found her. laying there. To my knowledge, nothing is known for sure, but my family kind of assumes she'd had a stroke.. She'd apparently had a small one, or a TIA (which google says is a "Transient ischemic attack" which is... "an episode in which a person has stroke -like symptoms for less than 24 hours, usually less than 1-2 hours.") earlier that week/last week. So.. yeah. My weekend plans quickly changed, to say the least.
Luckily for me, I didn't really need to attend my friday classes, one was just an extra day/question day for the teacher before a test on monday, he emailed us a study guide on thursday evening, and I wouldn't have had to go to my other friday class regardless.
Today, Sunday, was the funeral. Decent amount of people... Paul made the 3-ish hour drive out here to be with me ♥.
Now, I'm back at campus, needing to study for my test tomorrow, Paul is on his way home and I miss him already... Would've liked a chance for cuddling, but he couldn't stay. We'll (hopefully) see each other next weekend, anyway.
-.- Life goes on.
