About the WoW thing, I don't really get his viewpoint on that. It's a game, he sounds like he's taking it WAY too seriously and it's becoming a task instead of leisure. He needs to remember what's important and what's not. Here's a Protip: WoW isn't, getting rest for the next day is.

Would he do the same thing if he were playing another game (e.g. darts, billiards, beer pong, Risk)?

eh, I don't think he really takes the game too seriously. And I doubt he considers getting rest for the next day, ie going to bed earlier, that important (hell, I don't even, really, so I can't blame him for it).

At any rate, he'd forgotten/wasn't bothered by it any more after the fact, I just kinda overthink things to an extent.

And.. he probably would actually kinda do the same thing with another game.
