I'm immensely honored to have been invited to participate in the 14th Jornada de Literatura ("Literature Journey") in Passo Fundo. This is one of the oldest and most important literary events in the country, so for me to be invited (someone just recently introduced into the Brazilian writing community) is an amazing surprise.
The best part is I'll spend two days meeting with class after class of junior high and high school students, discussing reading, writing, and my own work. This part of the festival is known as the "Jorandinha" for "Little Journey". :) Since there's not much in life I enjoy more than encouraging new readers, this is like a dream come true.
Add one more to the many reasons I love Brazil!

Two posts in one day? Makes me dizzy.
I'm off to Rio tomorrow for an Audiovisual conference, so I'll be out of touch most of the rest of this week. It never ends...
