the cat is back

You can tell the out of towners are in downtown Austin now for SXSW...I havent seen so many people wear skinny jeans!

The weather's been beautiful...80's, warm & sunny. I'll take it!

After work today, I ran a few errands. First off, I went to the flooring company since the tile samples had finally arrived! I brought in the sample with me that I pulled up from the floor and it was a pretty damn good match. My tile seems to have flecks of white, but I might be able to do that myself with the stippling brush. I ordered some and it should be here next week.

I was really happy that I FINALLY got a tile that was a 99% match--phew! I stopped by Barnes & Nobles since we're members and they keep sending coupons. I bought a book that was cheaper to buy here than on Amazon.com called Ghost Girl by Torey Hayden. It's a true story of a child psychologist, Torey, and the story of a young girl who's either been abused in satanic rituals or years of pornos with her sisters. Basically, it's an effed up story, but there is a happy ending, luckily. Why I read these books? I dont know--maybe because it's just so terrible and beyond believe that I cant really accept them as real?

Anyway, I stopped by Lowes to get some lawn care stuff--specifically weed killers. It's that time of year when the grass and especially weeds are growing so I have to get crankin' now before it gets out of control. I usually buy the kind you hook up to the hose and just spray.

So, when I got home, I started spraying the front yard. Well, what do you know, I saw the black cat again! I'm thinking that it MUST be someone's cat because it comes when called. It followed me as I called for it all the way into the garage so it is now contained. I called animal control and someone is going to come--though they didnt have an ETA. They asked me to offer it some food and water so I got the doggies' spare bowls. I didnt have tuna (inconceivable) so I used the next best thing which was canned chicken. The cat chowed it down like it had never seen food before. It was very friendly and would follow me all around the garage.

eating like it's never seen food before

up for a breathe of air

the damage--what could do this??

lickin' the chops

chillin' around the garage
EDIT: Animal control came to pick up the cat. He's a male and the animal control officer said it almost look like a burn (poor thing)! The cat was not microchipped and obviously didnt have a collar/tags. I left a message on the neighborhood forum that the cat was picked up so owners (if there are any) can go there to claim the kitty.
