I love going to the grocery store around the 9-10pm hour. I always get a good parking spot, the place isnt busy and that's when they start stocking so chances are whatever I'm looking for is being restocked. Now I know why my mom goes shopping at midnight :o)
I had my pizza for dinner and then had a craving for tom yum soup. I didnt have lemongrass or limes, but I still had galangal and fish sauce! So, I headed out and went to the grocery store for the 2nd time today. Grocery shopping has been more and more enjoyable for some reason. Is that a sign of growing up?
I bought fennel for the heck of it. The stalks are super long and I can barely fit it in my fridge. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I'll figure out something. I'm up for a challenge :o)
Today, the guy from Craigs List who is interested in the Mariner came back for the 2nd time and let him take the car for a while so he could get it checked out by a mechanic. After he left, I met up with Misti
misti_k for brunch at
NXNW. It was my first time there and from what I could taste (nose was stuffy from allergies), it was really tasty!
Afterwards, she came with me to David's Bridal so I could try on bridesmaids dresses for Jackie's wedding in July. I knew the style and the color--I just needed to figure out what size I needed. We oogled at the dresses they had as we waited for an associate to find the dresses and bring them over to a dressing room. Overall, the process didnt take very long! She didnt have the dress in the color so we picked another dress in the same color so we could see how it looked against my skin tone.
This is the dress--style & color
first dress I tried on--too tight! I had bat wings--eeks! but cute, right?
a size up--much better
a view from the back
not the dress, but the color
After I paid for the dress (ready to be picked up in May), we went next door to Ulta to look at make up. I was in dire need of tweezers (I lost mine when we flew to MA and my eyebrows are getting outta control) and some more face powder. Misti bought a paddle brush and then we parted because her hubby is returning from Iraq today!
I came home to tidy up the house and relax. I talked with Steve for a while on Skype (he tried twice to call, but I couldnt hear anything) made my 1st grocery store trip and made my pizza, and then watched Sicko on demand. Yes, it's a Michael Moore movie, but was still interesting--oh how I'd love to live in France where healthcare is free, you get a min 5 weeks of vacation a year, work 35 hr/week and a gov sent helper to your home after you have a baby!
I fell asleep on the couch with the dogs on my lap after a bit, woke up 30 mins later and wanted my soup :o)
Tomorrow, I'm going over to Veronica's to start up our dinner/games nights with the gals from work (or where I used to work). I think I'm going to cook something in the tagine to bring over. It'll also be the first time I see Crazy Lisa since she's moved back into time--should be fun!
