Look! It's already sprouting!
I've had the Aerogarden about 2 days now and guess what? The basil is starting to sprout! How exciting :o) All the other herbs say they'll start sprouting anywhere from 5-14 days so this is only the beginning, but so far so good! I was surprised to see something so soon! I think I have the light schedule down--at first I was trying to coordinate the light to when there is daylight outside, but I think it's best how it is now--light flicks on when it's bedtime and then it clicks off right about when I come home from work.
Last night Steve requested to go to Saltgrass for dinner so off we went! It wasn't very busy for a Wednesday night, but we were seated and greeted promptly. After that, the service slowed down and almost diminished. We waited almost 30 mins for our meals--I got coconut shrimp (my usual) and Steve ordered a steak cooked medium. When our food FINALLY came, his steak was rare! The outside was basically seared and it was completely raw in the center. Poor guy was starving and had to wait for another steak to be cooked--luckily, it was cooked to perfection.
Tonight, we decided to check out a new restaurant in RR called Morelia Grille--tex/mex. So far, so good, but when our food came, they brought out the wrong dish! He had ordered the "El Vaquero" and the waiter thought he had ordered the "Fried Avacado". So, the wrong dish came out so it was sent back and he again had to wait.
We went to Barnes & Nobles where we walked out with 10 books! I will admit 2 of them were mine of which 1 was a Mandarin dictionary/phrase book for our trip to China. The rest were all Steve. I have a rule with him--he can only buy the books that he can carry...lol. He did well with carrying 8 books in the end! That should hold him over for a while during the flight and beginning of the deployment. That and his new mini laptop that is super tiny!
It's so itty bitty!
Luckily, we both have tomorrow off, but he's gotta go to Fort Hood to see his soldiers off that are flying in the advanced party. I guess in the mean time, I could wait in line for military decals for my car--last time I went, it was a 1 1/2 hour wait...NO THANKS!
Other things we need to do tomorrow include stopping by the passport office, going to the Lexus dealership so they can attach something to the front fender so I can hang my plates (TX law says front & back plates are needed), going to 5 Guys for lunch and he's still gotta pack his ruck sacks...
