I'm not going to lie. The New Kids on the Block concert was AWESOME! I was a fan in elementary school...I had the buttons, the binder, t-shirts and a door sized poster, but I wasn't like a super CRAZY fan. Now 15 years later, here they are again...back together. Misti
misti_k and I made our way to San Antonio for one of the craziest concerts I had ever been to...
They're back!
They had a screen where you could text your message up there...mine never made it up...hmph!
First opening act was a singer named Tami Chynn...didnt really care much for her
Second opening act was Natasha Bedingfield--a pleasant surprise! I had totally forgotten she was touring with NKOTB...
She played all her hits..."pocket full of sunshine", "unwritten", "love like this" and "these words"
Then it was time for NKOTB!!
They danced, they sang, they looked good!
They had a live band playing the whole time...was great!
There were SO many screaming girls, the place as SO loud and Misti and I left almost deaf...
Joey with "please dont go giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirl"
I love this picture because Donnie thinks he's the shiznits
At one point, they performed on some big turning platform at floor level
Another outfit change...this one looks like PJs to me, not sure how I feel about Joey's scarf either
Showing some Beantown love! Donnie wore a different Red Sox hat with each outfit
And now time for the videos. I apologize that they're blurry at first, but the camera takes a few seconds to focus so they sharpen as the video progresses. I taped their hit songs..."the right stuff", "step by step" and "hangin' tough". This first video is Jordan unbuttoning his shirt in this UBER cheesy wind scene. I saw a video for it in the Chicago concert and had been looking forward to it all night to happen because it's SO funny! Jordan and Joey both performed their singles that they released early 2000's when they branched out on their own.
Jordan's unbuttoned shirt move...this video is too funny
"the right stuff"...I LOVE the dancing! Brought back so many memories...
"step by step".....oh baby!
And last but not least..."hangin' tough"!

During the concert, the girl next to me asked for my email address at LEAST 10x. She wanted me to send pictures to her and after I typed my email into my phone to show her (no point in shouting), her friend put it in her phone and the girl STILL kept asking my email to verify. Her friend was like, "you've already asked her 5x already!" This was the 2nd concert that this has happened to me (same thing happened at Stone Temple Pilots). Mega zoom = great pictures!
But after the show, Misti and I both had messed up hearing. The best way to describe it is that it sounded like I had water in my ears and that sounds were muffled. It was very strange, but it was SO loud in there!
We spent the night at Misti's parents house. I got to meet her family and they're very cool people. Her dad made breakfast in the morning which I thought was very sweet. We made it back to Austin by 11ish and I made my way home to check on the doggies. I ended up hanging out with Veronica to help her with her baby stuff. Her mom, stepdad and sister were in town so we all went to have Indian for dinner--their first time! They ALL really liked it--phew!
I went home and watched a fantastic Red Sox game--take that Tampa Bay! Game 7 is tonight! Winner plays the Phillies in the World Series :oD
