First full week as a bum...

Jun 06, 2008 18:39

Well, last week I was when I was really a bum, but this week was the first week I was home with no job. It's been kind of weird not having to wake up and go somewhere, but it's given me a chance to catch up on a lot of things on my to-do list.

For starters, I mowed the lawn in the middle of the day when it was 97*f. I thought I was going to DIE and it took me 3x a long to finish because I took so many breaks. I also did 6 loads of laundry included all the clothes we packed for the cruise. They're all folded and put away. I went through our junk mail, organized our recyclables, scrubbed all 3 bathrooms on my hands and knees, got my tires rotated, oil changed and inspection sticker...phew!

I also applied for a few jobs, sent my resume to 2 headhunter companies, and joined a new networking websites. Hopefully, I hear something soon other than sales jobs from people who've found my resume on Monster.com...meh.

So, I'll talk about my trip to MA! My mom was an hour late picking us up at the airport. Coupled with some traffic back home, Steve and I got ready and changed in 15 mins for Alyssa's wedding. We hadn't eaten lunch so my mom prepped us a fruit platter complete with sandwiches. We snap a few pictures and we're off! I gave 1 3/4 hours to get to the church was traffic was HORRENDOUS! Steve definitely doesnt want to move back to MA now. We ended up inching up the highway for 2 1/2 hours and missed the ceremony. We luckily made it to the reception on time! We found our place cards and lucky Steve! He was the only guy at the table with 7 other ladies :oP

It was a Babson reunion! I miss everyone :o(
The wedding was great! The good was pretty good and I was SOOO happy to see people from school that I hadnt seen in forever. The only negative thing about the wedding was that I was still coughing pretty badly :o( Steve rationed my cough drops and I downed TONS of water. But aside from that, we had a wonderful time. We left shortly before midnight to head back to my parents house and passed out!

The next morning, my ENTIRE family met up along with Steve's grandmother to have dim sum in Chinatown. I think this is the first time my whole family's been together in a year since the last few times I've been back, there's always been a brother missing.

After dim sum, we went to visit my dad's condos, Lofts Avana, since it's completed. We oo'ed and aa'ed at the pretty model rooms. Then, we stopped by a bakery where my mom bought me a dozen of my fav egg custard pastries and we all got boba tea.

The condos

Who saw the movie 21? This street was in the movie when Ben goes to the underground casino in Chinatown.
Then Steve and I were dropped off at the airport and we flew to Seattle. Our visit in MA was short and sweet, but hopefully next time we're in town (probably in Dec), we'll get to see EVERYONE!

Alrighty, I'm going to wake Steve up (he's napping) and we're going to hit the gym! WHOO HOO! Time to lose some of this cruise weight :oP
