back to 3 dogs

Last night, Steve and I went to have dinner at Brick Oven before our movie. The food there was ok. I orderd a portabello mushroom and proscuitto pizza and it was SO greasy! It reminded me of that scene from Along Came Polly where they're eating pizza and you could squeeze the grease out. Steve got a pasta dish that just had TOO much garlic and olives--the taste was overbearing. The best part of the meal overall was probably our bruscetta which wasnt all that impressive.

But, we arrive 30 mins early before show time to see The Counterfeiters. A really tall lady with poofy hair decided to sit in front of me...booo! So, Steve and I moved a seat over, and that caused the people behind us to move, too. Well, wouldnt you know, the poofy haired lady ended up moving so had I waited 30 seconds, I would have been good..ah well!

The movie itself was great! It's based loosely on a true story which was pretty amazing. Even though the entire movie was in subtitles, it didn't seem to phase us. Steve said that movies having to deal with the Holocaust and concentration camps are always emotionally draining for him.

This morning Alaina drove down to pick up her two dogs, Jonesy and Nieve. We went out for breakfast at Eastside Cafe which was awesome! We of course started off with the baked brie & apple chutney and she fell in love. I got my usual belgium waffles and enjoyed every last bit of freshly made whipped cream--YUM! We went into the lil' gift shop afterwards and she bought the book that has the restaurant recipes...lol.

So, we're back to our 3 dogs and it feels kind of strange not to have a "busy" house.

Steve had a flag football game today so I left at the same time as him with Coco in tow to stop by Petsmart to buy her a new collar as an early birthday gift :o) She's been wearing the same one since the day we got her when she was just over 6lbs and now she's up over 20lb with her collar maxed out. I got her a pink leather studded collar to match her badass personality. I also stocked up on some treats and we were off.

I wanted to stop by the new leash free dog park they had just opened up in Round Rock, but I didn't really check the directions carefully. I took a few turns and before I knew it, I was on my way home so I just decided to stop by Old Settlers Park instead to take her for a walk. I had only really been there once when Animal Planet was there, but ti's a pretty huge place! It's got soccer fields, baseball fields, football fields, a water park, a lake with ares to picnic, walking trails and even course for a golf-like game.

So, we walked around for a bit and came upon a huge field of blue bonnets. There some families with kids taking pictures there and then here I am with my dog, but whatevs, man! I can take these cheesy bluebonnet pictures, too!

Steve just called and is heading off to the happy hour after the game. I think I'll do some laundry, do a quick round at the grocery store and stop by Blockbuster to rent No Country for Old Men.
