Yesterday I spent the day helping out at a homeless shelter in Minneapolis. While we were there, this strange man came up to me and said "what is something that all of us have in common?" I said "We all need to breathe, eat, and sleep" He replied "No, not the obvious things, you think about it and I will come back to you." He never did but one of the high school girls received this letter from him. I believe it is extremely interesting
Than Q for being here today! . . . on your side of the serving table. Please don't be here some time in the future (usually about twenty years), on this side of the serving line. In a survey I helped conduct ten to twelve years ago as to why people are homeless and or unemployed, we found three MAIN reasons covered most people:
1. Lack of education (Stay in School)
2. Drugs and Alcohol (Cigarettes and Beer are drugs)
3. Alienation from family and friends (no safety net in time of trouble. And that stupid irritating brother/sister does get smarter as you mature)
The one thing all of you and all of us have in common: At one time, we were all your age and this couldn't happen to us.
Well, it CAN and for some of you WILL happen.
It starts at home; not keeping our room clean. And EVERY woman on the street at some time dated a boy their folks didn't like! So . . . WATCH IT!!!!!
