heres the update on my life:
1. lindsay and i are still togetherr
2. i have dsl
3. everything else is the same.

so here's a story, titled "pending transit" by justin ozzy.
working the holidays in the operating room was always trouble for me. you see, i'm not a doctor, thus i'm not up paid to save lives. i'm a janitor, so i get paid to clean up the mess after the doctors retreat to their estates for the holiday. one christmas i was working the night shift, on a normal night i leave at 2:00 in the morning. this night, though, i was bothered by a flashing name on the monitors.
"PENDING TRANSIT" it flashed over and over again. i checked my watch. 9:30 pm. shit, the case would be in at 10:00 and not out until 2:00, meaning i would stay late while everyone else leaves. with nothing i could do to change this i decided to rely on what every 7 year old relies on this time of year. i looked to the ceiling and said "santa, please make this case go away so that i may leave early and have a good holiday." no response, as i had expected.
i continued my work, and by midnight the monitors still flashed "PENDING TRANSIT." i sighed as i noticed the head nurse walking down the hall towards me. i stopped her and asked, "what's the deal with the trauma case for room 14?" she looked at me and shook her head.
"dont worry about that one" she said, "the patient died in transit, it's not happening tonight."
i stood there, sort of shocked, but with a smile on my face. santa is real, and he granted my wish.
