*blows in on a week-old ocean breeze*

Hey all, I'm back! Whew, that outage was a little longer than I expected it to be, but... between battling work, jet lag, and a mysterious case of food poisoning, I just didn't feel like doing much this past week! But, I'd say I'm basically operating at 100% again, and you know what?

Today was a really good day.

I am a naive city girl and a weirdo, just keep that in mind )

Heeeey!

Bwaaghgh awesome!! Digimon ornaments! It's sheer genuis, I tell ya! Those make reeeeally good ornaments <3!!!

We still don't have a tree of our own since we'll be going to my parents' house as usual...But sometimes when I stop and think about it, is that really stopping me from decorating, or am I just being lazy? :p I'm pretty sure I'd be the type of person to get a shiny, maybe colorful fake Christmas tree if I ever got one, and I guess I'd be missing out on the "authenticity" or whatnot, but...I don't like messy needles or water buckets or whatever things you have to do for real trees. (Ahh, shame on me! I need some "Charlie Brown Christmas" to set me right, perhaps XD;; ) I'm happy you're so happy about your tree, though! :)

Uhh, I also did not know that about sheep. I'm not sure if I've ever petted one before! o_o Even if not pleasant to touch, are they at all "cuddly" in the sense of "wanting to cuddle with you"? I did purchase a winter hat lined with baby alpaca fur at the Christmas market a couple of weekends ago...and it's soooo soft :3, but I've hardly gotten to wear it at all since it's been decidedly un-wintery around here. (Highs today in the 60s??? What???)

Well, I hope your dream of owning a pet goat will come true -- Is that even legal (if you're not living on a farm)? If not, I'm tellin' ya, it sounds like you need a puppy dog... ;3 I love having pets. (Even though one of our cats is driving me up the wall right now, howling for food. I wouldn't trade it!!)

Anyway, Good to have ya back!! I figured work and stuff might have been killing you over this past week, but also food poisoning??! Yuck!! Was it something you picked up on vacation or after you got back? Anyway, you probably don't want to talk about that since you've already overcome it, and I don't want to ruin your good mood!

I'm starting to see Tumblr and Livejournal as sort of separate (and complementary?) things, I...guess? I hate to buy into that "quick share" culture, but there are definitely times when I really do just want to share a single exciting/cute/(fandomy) thing, and Tumblr seems to be the place for that. Long-format blogging on LJ with a few close friends is still nice, too! (Even though I rarely write any, hah) Also, I realized earlier today that I was not following your main Tumblr (maybe because I thought you weren't posting anything, but it looks like I was wrong, aughh sorry!)...but anyway, that's been fixed! :D (Oh, and I think I did that "ask" thing totally wrong without realizing it at the time -- I think you're supposed to put the questions out there on your Tumblr and then wait for other people to prompt you to answer all of them, or certain ones. Or something? Idk, I'm still figuring out Tumblr culture and apparently I'm way behind! I really enjoyed reading your answers though X3 And you KNOW we would've prompted each other if we had understood the etiquette, so it's ALL GOOD.)

Yup yup yup! "Christmas at parents" was always why we never did a tree in the past (despite us having squirreled away... two boxes of ornaments from my folks' house? WTF O_o). Actually, I've never had a real tree before either, but that's what the husb' always had growing up-- and we don't exactly have a lot of storage space for a fake one, so real tree it was! It was actually really easy to set up, but it is definitely sheddy, and throwing it away is going to be an exercise in pain and suffering (seriously-- the needles are ridiculously sharp!!). So perhaps it's the novelty more than anything else, but yes, the excitement of having a real, decorated TREEEEE is still very real for both of us :)

The sheep were... interested in people to the degree they thought the people had food. So no, not particularly looking for cuddles XD It's possible that the goats could care less too, but they were putting up with the attention I was giving them, at the very least ^^; Ooh, NGL, I'd be interested in petting a llama or alpaca as well. I have an alpaca scarf (though not baby-- I don't think?), and it is indeed quite soft! I have to look into the laws around here, but I think goats are just one step above chickens for some of these more rural areas (in that you don't need a lot of permits or special zoning to own one). And the weird thing is that owning a goat is somehow more acceptable to my husband than owning a dog, so... mmmmaybe this is the way we end up compromising on a pet?? That seems odd, but if/when we start shopping for a house... we might be looking for a place with a decent amount of land, just in case?? O_o But obviously this is still a weird pipe dream at this point and I need to do more research XD;

Nah, talking about food poisoning doesn't ruin any moods! I really don't know what was up with it-- I can't really trace it to a source, but it must've happened on the last day of vacation, and it was just me that got it, so that's good. And I was only seriously out of commission on Monday, and I have sick days I can use now, so it could have been much worse!

I think that's a good way to see it-- Tumblr is for a quick and immediate dose of quotable quotes, images and gifs, save the LJ for long-form discussion and close friends :) And heh... yeah, no worries! I figured I should do *something* with my main Tumblr, and I didn't start actually rebloggin' much until that Crunchyroll announcement. I eventually realized we did the ask meme wrong too-- but hey, I think I only had one follower at that point, so I kind of needed to break the rules anyway, and I just wanted to answer the thing! But now... watch out world! We know what we're doing (kind of)-- nothing can stop us now! XD
