There were absolutely no places in my area to get a major appliance, (well, Sears, I guess, but I'm mad at them,) so I had to get it in Illinois. I sure hope I made a good choice. God willin and the crick don't rise, it should be here on Friday. It's a basic, no-frills Speed Queen, top loader model. It was a little more expensive than I was hoping (please Lord, let the drier I have keep on truckin',) but I've heard/read a lot of good things about it. Design-wise, uh, it's got working class looks. It's not pretty, and it doesn't have an oodle of settings and play me a little tune like Sister's super-deluxe Samsung, but supposedly it's built to last, and gets the clothes clean. That's good enough for me.
And I appreciated that when I told him where I live, the guy at the appliance dealership didn't dramatically clutch his pearls and then charge me out the wazoo for delivery and set-up, like he was going to have to bring it across the freakin river on horseback while fighting off hordes of inbred feral banjo-players. You know, like the salesperson at SEARS *spits*
EDIT: Dammit! Just realized I missed PIE DAY. Ah well. See you next year, PD.
