I snapped awake and looked at the clock, seeing it said something a little surprising - the time our meeting starts. Oops. If things actually started at the times they were scheduled for, this would be sort of bad. As it is, I had to get there before my boss did. I had half an hour.
I snapped awake out of a dream in which torgo_x and I were sitting on a curb in a large parking lot, talking about Jeff Buckley and another (female) linguist I know.
I don't know any other linguists.
