"It depends on what you mean by 'go in my suitcase'" *
It seems I haven't posted since school started up again. Huh. Well I'm continuing with the same program, so it's still all math all the time, but I think this quarter will be a little easier. Well, two of my classes are somewhat harder this time around, but the most difficult class in the fall (set theory) has been replaced with combinatorics, which is so far tons easier and really interesting. Yay!
Annoyingly, we had to move dorm rooms this weekend. Basically, we live in an apartment style duplex, and we had to move to the other half of the building (which they just finished renovating and we had to move so they could start construction on our old place). On the one hand, yay new shiny dorm that is way cleaner and has a stove that actually works are wood floors instead of gross carpet, but there are some downsides:
1) They gave us virtually NO warning about the move. (As in, we got an email over break about maybe having to move and then heard nothing else until the day we had to get all of our stuff out of there). 2) The water pressure sucks in the kitchen and it only gets to a lukewarm temperature in both the kitchen & bathroom, which really sucks for showering. 3) The faucet in the bathroom squirts water sideways if you turn it on all the way. 4) The layout is different than our old place--there are three single bedrooms instead of two doubles & a living room, but murgatrude & I still wanted to share a room, so we're using the spare one as a pseudo living room. 5) The kitchen cupboards are ridiculous and it's impossible for me to reach most of them, the sink is tiny, and there is very little counter space. In conclusion, GRRRR, but I'll get used to it.
Fandomy things:
- I saw Sherlock Holmes over the weekend, which was rather enjoyable. It wasn't the most fantastic ever, but still very fun. Erm, anyone have any Holmes/Watson recs? (Movieverse, plz. I have not read any of the books /o\) I cannot get over how married they were.
- OMG DOLLHOUSE. I am going to be so sad when it's over. This season has been so good! [ETA: Spoilers in the comments!]
- On a whim, I watched the UK show Beautiful People last week. It's pretty cracktastic, but I was totally charmed by the end. You can never go wrong with random, unnecessary musical interludes. (Okay, that's a lie, but I enjoyed them here).
- Speaking of kind-of-silly-but-also-awesome British TV, I'm excited for S4 of Skins! It took me a while to care about the S3 cast, but I did by the end and I'm anxious to see them again.
