today is friday.... TGIF

I am glad it is Friday, I will be glad when it is after lunch. I am already done working for the day. I just have to run that list item upstairs. I have big plans, spa pedicure, do some more crocheting on the incomplete gift for
namibiacoco. I was so close, but it was that stomach flu that got me last week. I was down for a day, but I couldn't work on it for more than that. The yarn has a slight smell, not bad, but a certain soap, that just would tip me over the edge when I smelled it, so it was put away for a while. I worked on my Clapotis. My beautiful, red indian summer Morehouse Farm Merino lace weight on size 6 bamboo lovely Clapotis.

I purchased some yarn on e-bay the Blue Heron mercerized cotton lace weight to do another, but there is an introduction to knitting with beads class in a couple of weeks so I signed up for it and will use my Blueberry yarn to do that one. I picked up that beads last night after paying for the class. My daughter is in love with the store dog. I think it is an airedale. BiG, HuGe dog, with curly fur, that is sweet as can be. I am more the small dog type, the kind that if you would allow it to could curl up on your lap to pet it. But this one curls up on the sofa without you and wants ot be petted. The girly was happy to oblige.

I had another beautiful yarn that has yet to tell what it wants to be. In my down time from work I have been ball winding. I have two Pi shawls I want to make, one in Lornas Lace's Black Purl WW, it may end up being more of a throw blanket than a shawl. The second is very exciting, the Lisa Knits Shade Garden lace weight - two skeins. BEAUTIFUL!!!! I was smiling as I was winding (until my arms hurt from the yardage) but it is gorgeous. I still have a skein of her LIttle Devil. I almost used it for the beading class, but it just didn't seem quite right. Maybe, but I think it wants to be more.

My LYS is having a One Skein competition in september, I am not sure if I am up for creating a knit pattern, I had thought of using some lovely laceweight (?Little Devil) to create a loose, loopy tank top, to wear over a shell, but I don't know that I am up to that challenge. Stockinette on big needles, perhaps garter stitch. I don't know. I am bad with shaping so far. I haven't created a garment to fit as yet, so I am leary.

We embark on our road trip adventure next thursday. In Roswell they have this Alien Festival the weekend of/before the Fourth of July. We are going and Tira will also be visiting her Grandparents in ABQ. They will drive down to pick her up for the few days I will drive up to get her on the 4th or 5th depending on how happy she is being there. This is her first adventure away from mom. Her only sleep overs have been with grandma, they sleep  in the T.V room on an air mattress and stay up late (9:30) and eat pop corn and watch a movie together. This will be a bit bigger than that. We have stayed there together, but this is her first there alone.

OK well it is time to make the lunch suggestion..... BBQ, Italian, Deli.... we'll see.
