So I'd seen a couple episodes of Battlestar Galactica before and liked them, but never really got into it for a number of different reasons/general laziness. However, it being summer, I decided that now would be as good a time as any to give it a shot. So I watched the 3-hour pilot tonight.

OH MY GOD IT WAS FUCKING INCREDIBLE.

I had the same reaction to the pilot mini series.

How is this show not a fucking sci-fi classic? L
I don't know if it is or isn't, but I hear that the ending was disappointing.

I saw the first season, which was amazing, and I'm planning to eventually see the rest.

It gets better! And Starbuck is a lot more nuanced than she appears at first. I am IN LOVE with her. Unfortunately there is nowhere near enough gay - check out Razor and the season 4 webisodes when you get to that point, they are the main sources.

I am like a BSG missionary. My relationship with my best friend is based on our shared love of it, and I managed to get one of my professors to watch it, and I'm writing an essay on it this semester. Frak yeah.

I'm the same way with Star Trek: my relationship with my best friend is based on our shared obsessive love of the reboot, and I've written an essay about it. XD Now I just have to convert a teacher, it seems. ;)
