This is the core issue. He isn't willing to place the blame for HIS decision to move/switch jobs/whatever where it belongs, on his own free will/choices. It's HIS greed/need to work in a high-paying career field that is to blame. Fuck-a-bunch of what society thinks. THAT is basically the feminist theme. You want us do be happy home-makers? FUCK that shit. We don't WANT to do that shit. So DEAL... and pay us what we fucking deserve.
As a chick who throws down with the best of the boys on the CostCo freight crew, I make it a point to NEVER rest until I see the men starting to lag behind first... and even then, I tend to out-shine many. I've been working my new warehouse for four days now and the department managers are already beginning to fight for me when I clock in.
Still, I'm facing a similar decision. CostCo pays well, but [after 3.5 years] the graveyard shift has pretty much burned me out [and it's difficult to transfer to the front end for a couple reasons I won't go into here... still, it's another department women are often expected to work]. So, there's a choice: Stay and be miserable [and sell your happiness for the highest price] like the dumbass in the article, or come up with an alternative option/make a decision, act on it, and find something better... something that will make you happy. Sure, it may not pay as well. But I believe sanity/emotional health is worth it.
