It was a good and active weekend until Sunday night, when I got really frustrated.
Went dancing at the Aruba, heard live music, Swinging Pedestrians. They're a great rockabilly jump blues band, lots of energy. Lots of dancers there, and the "next generation" is getting good! so that means more leads for us follows, we're really starting a scene. It's a good group.
Saturday I shot a wedding. Some of the images came out great. It was a little weird, though, I should have been more social and asked more questions, I guess. But the money was good and it was fun. After the wedding, I spent 2 hours editing and selecting images, I think I took over 200 photos.
We had a USA dance, I went to it at 6 because I thought we had a pre-meeting. Felt silly, because that's next month's dance. And we had an even guy/girl ratio at the dance! I got on the floor quite a bit for a ballroom dance. We're going to be working with the Boys & Girls Club on teaching kids, and I'm arranging that. It'll be nice once it gets going.
After that, I stopped for some McDonald's, which I hadn't had in forever. The fries were fresh and just the right consistency. I hate to admit it, but it was heavenly. Then on to Rocky Horror Picture Show, where I chatted with Don pre-show and was one of just a few voices spouting lines. It was the lamest audience I'd ever experienced. I still had fun, cracked the kids behind me up the entire movie.
Sunday went hiking for 4.5 hours to three waterfalls in southern Red Rock. It was short but grueling, my lats and back are sore, and my calves hurt a little. It was a lot of fun, we had a good group.
Was supposed to have dinner with a magician, but he never called or texted, didn't respond to my text or calls. The good side is, I got egg foo young. Yum. Thought about going out country dancing, thought about going out for ice cream, but took a nap and laid around instead. Would've watched the Grammys if my TV received digital, but I'm not plugged in. That'll change as of tomorrow, supposedly.
Oh, one work update: we are getting in to social media. And I'm the point person for it! So I'm working on a strategy. I think I know what I want to do, it's just hard to get it on paper. But that'll be nice. It'd be super-cool if I got a title and freedom to respond without going through 3 levels of approvals, but that will take time. I'll be happy if I can get out members connected on LinkedIn.
So life is good.
