Year in Review

Dec 26, 2008 08:11

It's been a good year. Had its ups and downs, but on the whole, a good year. I guess the year reflects my resolution. My resolution was to lose 10 pounds. I did: in July I was 143. Now I'm back to 152. At least now I know how to get back down, and yes, I'll be repeating my resolution: lose 10 pounds, get around high school weight.

If I had to sum it up in one word, I'd say nature. I did so much hiking and camping this year, it's amazing. I was cmaping 3 of 4 weekends in July, I was out skiing at Brianhead twice (almost camping, even though there were hot showers and stuff), I did hardcore peak hiking with Branch Whitney over the spring and summer, opened a trail in Lowell Canyon, did some clean-up of Red Rock and more.

When I wasn't outdoors, I was dancing. Almost every Friday night, plus the Exchange and Camp Hollywood (just got the DVDs! woot!)

I think the random stuff is the most fun, though. I saw three Cirque du Soleil shows, went skydiving, finished Route 66, won tickets on a radio contest to Summerfest, drove SJ to Knott's Berry Farm, upgraded my computer myself, participated in the caucus and voted.

Dating bounced around, had a few mishaps, a few good relationships, and an entire month of celibacy. I'm dating someone now, we're going to Vienna in January. He'll be there for work, I'm joining him when he's done with his project. I'm very excited to be going back to Europe, can't wait for good bread and sausage.

2009 is a reunion year: 10-year for MU, 5-year for Duke. Crazy!
