4.20 - In the Hands of the Prophets
Plot: Winn, the snake, first rears her head causing religious and political tensions to mount on the station.
OMG I already want to kill Winn. Seriously, can she not be in the next six seasons of this show? Please?
"I feel your anger and I forgive you for it."
I'm picturing her and her condescending face bursting into flame.
I love both of the O'Briens here though.
"A runabout? What was he doing at a runabout at four in the morning?"
"Apparently, he was getting murdered."
I don't remember Odo being this funny the first time I watched this series.
I like how the religious topic is talked about here.
I think that this was a good season finale.
Season Overview
These last two episodes were an exception, but for the most part this season felt like a waste of time. It felt like nothing happened. Kira and Nog are the only character with well formed character arcs and Kira gets on that very short list because all the series episodes were about her and her issues. Bashir slowly gets less and less obnoxious over the course of the season, but everyone else pretty much seems to stay where they'd started.
That being said, I loved Nog's arc - I nominate it for the "best thing of the season" award.
The politics didn't really change either. For all that they talked about how the Federation and the Bajorians had begun to form a good team I hadn't really seen that. The final two episodes, especially the last one, promised and delivered more. Let's hope that season two lives up to it.
Best and Worst List
Because everyone loves lists. OK, I love lists.
Best Episode: Duet
Worst Episode: Um, none of them were bad enough to deserve a "worst" label, but I'll give this to the one I liked the least - "Dax", because it was boring the n^th time around.
Best Reoccurring Character: Nog. I can't get over how much I loved what they did with him. (O'Brien is a close second because while he may not have had any real arc, he was consistently awesome all season.)
Worst Reoccurring Character: Actually, a lot of them would have a tie down here because of same reason - "they didn't do anything with them."
Best Guest-Star Character: Croden from "Vortex" with Marritza from "Duet" getting an honorable mention.
Worst Guest-Star Character: Mullibok from "Progress"
I think that's all for now.
