I understand where all of the emotional numbness and confusion comes from. I think my serotonin levels are actually wayyy too high. I'm on both Celexa and BuSpar which enhance serotonin activity. I was reading about what serotonin does and I seem to be getting way too much of it. Serotonin numbs you physically and mentally, surpresses hunger, makes you less tempermental and decreases irritability. In excess, Serotonin can make a person feel "numb" and out of touch with their feelings. When I was coming off of the Celexa I started to feel more in touch with my anger. I think I still am very angry on the Celexa, it simply inhibts my ability to feel it. I don't feel very angry on the Celexa, just numb, but when I finally get more in touch with how I feel, STORES of anger come out. The Celexa is simply repressing my ability to feel "negative" emotions and instead neutralizing them. It's terribly boring.
