Whoa. I haven't been on here in forever.

I don't even know if anybody checks this anymore. I don't have internet yet, so I haven't been able to update this or even surf for the past few months. When I don't think about it, I don't miss the internet. But then, when I do have a chance to sign on, I realize that it's much easier to have the internet than to not have it.

I'm not quite sure how to describe these last few months. A few things have changed, but they're big things. I work for The Hartford in their property and casualty division. I got hired 2 days before graduation (phew!). There are about 10 trainees in my class, and it's strange because all of them are older and have industry experience. I feel like the small fish in the big pond. But I like the work. My trainer is good, my coworkers are nice, and I have good benefits and enough money to do a couple of fun things. I have a townhouse, and I'm learning to adjust to being self-sufficient. I like the work and the townhouse, but it's difficult to be away from everyone I know. Truth be told, it can get pretty lonely. I especially miss Betta. She's just started the second year of dentistry school, and it's difficult for both of us to be away from each other. She deals with the stress of x-teen hour days and endless tests; I deal with the stress of being in a place where I don't know anyone and coming home to an empty building. I visit every weekend, and that helps. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have those weekends to look forward to. My goal is to be able to put enough time in at the Hartford that I can become a remote underwriter. If I do well, there's a chance that they'd give me a company laptop and let me work a couple days from home. If I can swing that, I could move back to buffalo and only go in to work 3 or 4 days a week. For now, it's one week at a time. I'm trying my hardest to make everything work out okay.

A couple of good things. I bought a brand new Takamine G-series jumbo acoustic electric guitar. It's wider bouts emphasize the lower frequencies, and the bigger body creates a larger resonance chamber for greater volume. I've been playing a lot of dave mathews. This guitar is perfectly suited for that kind of folksy sound. I also signed up for a month of Hapkido at Master Seng's Martial Arts Acadamy. He's supposedly 9th dan, which is a very very high ranking. All I know is that he put me into a couple of intense holds and I was hooked. Hapkido is a soft martial art that uses leverage; locks, pressure points, and throws. I like it because it has higher stances than Kung Fu (that deep horse stance really killed me because of my long legs). I start tuesday.  I hope I'm not too out of shape!

I miss the Canisius People. If anyone is still playing vampire, please let me know. I'm up most weekends and would relish a chance to bring back Treu. Or, dare I say, my newest creation, Treu's own big brother..... Crow!

Ps: Please update me about how you all are doing! It's been a long time since I talked to many of you and I want to hear what everybody's doing!
