Goddamn it, Haggis!
Hi, I'm Paul Haggis, and I just wrote Quantum of Solace! Did you _get_ it? I mean, did you get it? I am really subtle. I thought if we made our villain Greene, it tailspin the audience into Wonderment - IS he really "green"? I mean, he is using this environmentally-friendly business as a cover for international fraud! He deals with the rights to OIL! When we're supposed to be like, NOT using OIL!!! OH MAH GAH, man. It is SO ironical that the villain is green, is named Greene, but he ISN'T green AT ALL. It's just so subtle and clever. Almost as clever as the way I dealt with race issues in Crash. That was so _deep_. I think this discussion, inadvertent discussion! on green living and people named Greene is MORE _deep_. I dunno. If they give me another Oscar, I will be willing to discuss this on a panel at USC film school, for sure.
