You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

3. Location: Lansing, KS
4. Occupation: For the summer, I work at Armed Forces Insurance Exchange, and, yes, it's as dreadful as it sounds. I work in Regulatory Compliance, which is the department which makes sure all our forms and programs mesh with everything they should.
Normally, I'm a student. Majoring in English, double-minoring in Spanish and French. I plan to go to grad school, get my PhD in comparative literature, and become a professor.
5. Partner: My imaginary lover Spunk. I'm afraid I've never had any partner to speak of.
6. Kids: I totallly agree with what goldy_dollar said - I hate when you tell people you never want children, and they say you'll change your mind one day. Look, I completely lack the maternal gene. You don't want me to have babies. I'd kill them. No, seriously. There are certain women who cannot stand the sound of a child crying, which is where shaken baby syndrome happens, and I'm one of those women. My written works are my babies, and that's as close as it's getting.
7. Brothers/Sisters: None, whatsoever. Sometimes I joke that my cats are my brothers - one is overly affectionate and possessive. The other wants nothing to do with me.
8. Pets: Two cats. Figaro is about 17 years old, but still spry, a black and white ragamuffin. Seriously, that's an actual cat breed. The other is a less-than-year-old orange tabby named Toulouse. No, he didn't inspire my "Eddy" fics...we got him -after- that, and I -so- wanted to name him Eddy, but my mother wouldn't let me...
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life: 1. I've been writing my ass off this summer. It's only fic, but it's big to me.
2. I'm making all these college-type preparations like applying for extra student loans and a credit card for England and all that jazz...
3. I'M GOING TO FRAEKING ENGLAND FOR THE FALL SEMESTER. August 28-Dec 20. I mean, I'll have wireless over there, so you all will hardly notice, but I'll sure as hell notice. I'm planning to keep a new livejournal while I'm over there with loads of pictures for all my friends and family, and you guys, of course.
10) Where and for what did you go to school for?: I'm going into my junior year at Baker University in Baldwin City, KS. I was double-majoring in English and Spanish, but that was too much of a pain and I don't really -need- Spanish for any career I might pursue, so now I'm double-minoring in Spanish and French. And focusing on English with an emphasis in literature. After that, I would kill to do grad school at Columbia.
11) Parents? Um...they're parents? I shouldn't complain about them because my dad worked two jobs for the longest time trying to provide for us while my mom was a stay-at-home mom, and she basically does everything for me because I'm buried too deep in my own head to do anything practical. On the other hand, my mother cares more about the state of cleanliness in my bedroom than my state of mind and neither one of them even makes an effort to understand my point of view or to ask about my goals and aspirations...neither one has ever asked about my writing or even asked what I wanted to do with my life. So...yeah, I think I'd be okay with doing my own laundry and making my own appointments and paying for my own car insurance if I could feel like my parents understood me, at all.
12) Who are some of your friends? In RL, my closest friend is Rose. I've lived with her 3 out of my 4 semesters of college, and we're kind of like an old married couple. ...No, more like newlyweds, actually. We do everything together and we seem to have a hard time parting company. I swear, we're hetero-soulmates. And there's also feline_thespian, my "sister", and all the other sisters I love dearly - Julie, Danielle, Cede, Kaci, Brianna, Renee, Jordan, Rachel, Avaree, Amanda, Dana...I'm pretty sure I'm missing some. But they're awesome.
Then there's jacyevans and airiviel that I'm especially close to, and loads and loads of people that I haven't kept up with like I should have who I miss terribly.
