I've been spending a lot of time in the digital media world lately. Well more than before, which was a considerable amount of time already.
I started listening to podcasts about 4 years ago, and while I've listened to them, recommended them and interacted with them through emails, forums and other online networks, I've only just finally started my own. I've thought about doing a podcast for a couple of years at least. And as you all know I spent most of last year developing a podcast from seed to fruition. So now I'm a
podcaster! Psst, if you haven't yet, listen to any of my four episodes (or all of them).
And if you've been listening to my podcast you will also know that we review web series on it. Since I've been watching them and reviewing them I've become very heavily involved in the web series world. This has been even doubly helpful because I'm now known as a member of the web series community, and while I'm not a creator of
Mind's Eye, the studio web series, I am a major part of marketing it.
And Mind's Eye has really been going well. We've gotten lots of accolades from online media sources. We've gotten great reviews and been put in
Top Ten lists, and most recently been nominated for a
number of awards.
There are very few reputable or well known online awards, the Streamies being pretty much the only one, but with so many new shows being created more and more people are taking notice and creating awards.
Most recently the government has actually given out
funds for creating digital media, so people are actually taking notice of online entertainment content.
It's super exciting to be part of such a new and groundbreaking form of media. Other Tom at the studio described it as the wild wild west of media and it's kind of cool to be part of the frontier.
