I made a HUGE mistake.  Huge.  EPIC.

I downloaded Wizard101 for the kids.  I truly think I will never see my computer again during the light of day.  D:

In other news, we bought six more chicks!!   :D   Brian was building their pen/coop, and decided it was big enough for more, and in the farm world, more of something is always better.  Besides, I  ( Read more... )

At least it gives them something to do?

Buy a new computer, so you can play sims while they're distracted with Wizard 101. :P

Thankfully, the slime cleaned up very well with rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip and I took a few pictures of all the "girls" lol. Here's one of them:

I LOVE THE ONE IN THE MIDDLE.

It looked interesting! Thankfully I do not really have the attention span for MMORPGs or I would possibly join, ha!

PEEPS!!

(it's deja vu all over again)

Your kids had better get their computer time in now. I get the feeling once sims 3 arrives, mumsy will be thowing elbows to get her time at the screen!

I can totally see me tossing kids aside if they don't get out of my way fast enough once I get TS3, lol! RAWR!

I am still holding out hope for a new computer before then but I'm not going to bet my life it'll happen. Maybe Wizard 101 will lose its charm for the kids by June, eh?

What are you going to do with the chicks? Are you going to eat them when they're grown up? I guess that's what they're for, but how sad. Especially if you get attached to them. :( Or are they there to lay eggs...?

It made me think how in Canada we have Charlevoix lamb, a really cute critter that's eaten exactly one week after its birth. I guess you can't love farm animals too much.

The chickies will be for eggs, most definitely. :) I have nothing against raising meat animals... we do it with pigs and steers after all... but these chickens are going to be sort of a hobby for me. Not to mention I do all kinds of baking and I'm always running out of eggs, lol... so hopefully I won't have to worry about that happening once they start laying well!

I'm actually going to get six MORE. O_o No one told me how addictive chickens could be, lol! But I really wanted three different breeds and the place I get them from insists you buy six at a time. So I think I'll have the eighteen chicks, then raise them for a few months, decide which 9 or 10 I want to keep for my pets layers, and then give the rest away to my kids' 4-H leader, who also raises chickens (but has a much larger pen for them!) :D
