Gotta say, never honestly thought I'd of felt that!
The earthquake that happened a little bit ago in Virginia ... I felt it here in my kitchen in SouthCentral PA!!!
I was in my kitchen and hubby was upstairs ... we both felt it ... rattled the whole house!
Including rumbling under my feet! Glass items rattled and moved across the table and shelves, one bottle all but walked off the table. Furniture pieces were rumbling too. I grabbed onto one of my kitchen counters ... not that I "had" to stand but more like "in prep for whatever might happen in the next second". Next I was heading for a safe spot but the shaking stopped. All only occurred for a few seconds.
I've been experiencing some problems with the electric here now too since the shaking, off and on. I reported it to the electric company and they advise all their equipment (computers and electronic monitoring equipment, etc)all went down right about the same time of the earthquake and had not come back up again yet as of about an hour after quake.
According to the USGS site, this thing was felt all up and down the East Coast to some level.
Warnings are out to expect aftershocks. This so far is reported at 5.9 magnitude in Virginia.
