I spent most of the day thinking back and forth about what I should put here. I mean, I am kind of mixed about what exactly a "talent" counts as and to be perfectly honest I wouldn't put anything I do in that category so much as in the 'hobby' one. But that is mostly because the word 'talent' puts pressure on me in a way I am nerdy enough to not like. (What, at least I'm honest here!) I mean, I know ASL and Hebrew? (Neither well, but decently enough) But that is talking. And I write, but that is something I do here all the time. I can't draw, I couldn't hold a tune in a bucket (though I love to sing), and really I can kind of bake but how would you know that? (By the way, thank you all for the cookies. You make me smile. :))
But the one thing I get told the most is that I am good with kids. Which I guess sounds like an occupational hazard but is actually the other way around, I went into working with kids because I was always the one at the party who thought, "What the hell am I doing with these boring people when the kids are having fun?" So maybe my talent is that I am a goofball? My mom says it's cause I grew down. I was a 40 year old at age 7 (growing up sick you get old REAL fast or you are pretty miserable) and now I am resting at about 10 maturity wise. Plus, really, I get kids. They rarely are trying to deceive you or have ulterior motives (other than you know, get candy and stay up as late as possible both of which I get.) It's kind of why I want a house full of kids (don't worry, Timm will talk me out of it) but the noise crazy giggling mess, while tiring, is oddly soothing to me?
