It all started simply enough a few years ago with a small coffee shop (Big Sky Espresso) opening up within walking distance (just a few blocks) from our house. Believing one should always try to support local businesses, I made the walk to go get coffee on a fairly irregular basis.
Then we adopted an amazing big-ass black lab mix (Guy) who loves to walk the neighbor with his human pack and stop to socialize. So we started bringing Guy along with us. Big Sky's owner and employees love Guy, giving him treats on nearly every visit (treats for us, treats for Guy), all good.
Now every time I think of taking Guy on a walk, I somehow find Big Sky becoming more and more part of the walk. How did this happen to me?
So hear I am sitting drinking our homemade coffee and eating banana bread made by me--but find my thoughts drifting to their house special vanilla latte...oh so good. The weather is sunny too. I don't know how much longer I can resist this growing craving. Oh and when it starts getting warmer I have their iced version.
Damn them!
They are always so friendly to me, the mate, the Guy dog...--and I'm supporting a small independent business. The coffee is so f-ing wonderful. I'm doomed.
Added note: The mate says their are worse things...see Breaking Bad post.
Well at least I'm not alone.
