Regarding the entry I just reposted regarding possible changes to our Friends pages? This, if it happens, may be the thing that FINALLY gets me to switch over to Dreamwidth. Ugh.
I'm so frustrated because I still read my flist on LJ (since so many people are on there) but they seem to make it harder and harder all the time. I realize that they aren't getting any more revenue from my permanent account and all, but GAH. Seriously.
They are trying to be tumblr now, apparently. Is that really more appealing? Are they going to make a lot more money? I never see anyone post on lj_news about how much they love the new changes, only hate, hate, hate, so I don't know.
I actually just signed up to do the beta thingy and it made no difference to my layout at all other than having BETA BETA BETA all over the top of my profile page... I don't know if that is because I have an old layout style with customised layers rather than CSS (which I don't have because it makes my brain explode! lol).
I don't know either. I was afraid to do the beta because I wasn't sure if I could figure out how to switch it back, LOL! I would imagine it's your old layout style, though. I don't think they support that anymore in regards to changes, etc. Hey, maybe that's a way around this, hmmm. ;-)
Oh ugh ugh ugh! One of the things I love about LJ over all the other sites is that I'm able to customize my Friends page. I've got the background set as a color I like, the text is in a color I can easily read and I have individually selected background and font colors for each friend that's displayed with their name and icon on the left. It makes things VERY easy to read and to know who posted what. I'm with you... if this change is universal and mandatory, I'm outta here.
