Drabble: Family (Ten & Martha)
This one is for monanotlisa, and the prompt was Ten & Martha, and quixotic. I'm not sure I got the mood exactly right, but I tried. :-) First DW drabble! It takes place just after "The Lazarus Experiment."
Family
“I suppose I should thank you. Knight in shining armor and all that.”
He preens. Just a bit. “There’s no need. Well, if you want.”
“Thank you, brave Doctor! Whatever would I do without you?” She clasps her hands to her chest.
“Could do without the sarcasm.”
She softens. “What? Time Lords have no sense of humor?”
“I’ll have you know we were known as the stand-up comics of the galaxy in our day.”
Martha smiles to herself. Indeed. “Thank you, for saving my family. Even if they were horrible.”
“They weren’t so bad.” He smiles. “Nothing’s more important than family.”
