Oxymorons of the Club Culture

I admit it. I've never been to a straight 21+ club. In fact, I've never been to a straight club in general, aside from that one trip down to Tijuana that we'll never speak of again.

From the Irish version... you're not missing much.

*has given up on straight!clubbing* At least the music is dance-able in the gay ones and the guys can actually, er, dance... :|

Hahaha! This seems to be the general consensus. I'm sure that straight men everywhere, especially those who have that disgusting "I Own The Floor, Bitch" attitude, would be thrilled to hear this. :oD

I'll admit that there's a part of me that wants to go clubbing and have guys dance with me who don't already know me. It'd be flattering on some level. But, then again, I'm sure that I'd run into a lot of disrespectful, arrogant men who would piss me off with their attitudes. I have a hunch that I'm going to like the gay clubs more anyway. The music's good, it's cheap, the eyecandy is nice, and the people there tend to be friendly and relatively respectful toward women. I haven't heard any of these descriptors applied to straight clubs in a positive way. :o*

Maybe the next time that I'm in Ireland (hmm ... January 2008, if nothing else) or you're over here, we should head out for a night on the town. *g*

It's not flattering. It's always the lamest, dorkiest, hairiest, fatest guys who approach you without asking and then try to sex you through your clothes in whatever spastic movements they like to call "dancing".

And you can't get rid of them. Ever. Your friends have to beat them off with pocketbooks.

... Oh, dear. This would totally be my luck of the draw. And, ugh, ick ick ick.

Your friends have to beat them off with pocketbooks.
Eeps! If I ever make it out to a straight club, I'll have to ask my friends to bring their metal-lined pocketbooks since these guys apparently don't get the message (voiced or strongly implied with looks of disgust), "get away, you creep!" Thanks for letting me know in advance.

Also, side note: Speaking of people who don't get the message, would you like me to stop responding to psycho_gemini so that your inbox stays a bit cleaner? Just say the word, and I'll respectfully stop.

I've already banned the psycho, so unless she makes a sock puppet to continue this farce now, I doubt we'll be seeing anymore of her.

Since, apparently, freezing her replies didn't help. -_-;

But did you see it made fandom_wank? Or at least a small faction in i_wank anyway.

I haven't seen it yet. Link? (I rarely look, unless someone points me directly there, so I don't know the url's.) I wonder if she reported it herself (seeing as how she made that comment about how she couldn't wait to see you appear on such a thread for your "dramatic" comments, or something to similar affect).

It's been a while since I've interacted with someone who was so hypocritical and illogical in their responses. The blatant irony and repetition of what she said had me rolling. I think it'd be interesting to see the amount of times she used "snorts" or "DUH" in her responses, as well as determining the fraction of her posts that were correctly addressing the question asked. One good thing came out of it, I suppose ... she seemed to finally stop deleting her posts and use the "*" correction reply instead as requested. That was nice of her.

No, it definitly wasn't her. But apparently she was going to report me on "fandom fuckwits" or something? *shrugs* Never heard of it.

It's nice how you tried to talk rationally with her, but you might as well have saved your breath (on typing fingers, as the case may be). Earth logic confuses her.
