Farewell, Brian #2

Feb 27, 2009 08:54

Today is the last day for my tech at work, also known as "the other Brian" and "Brian Jr.," and of course mat_t has his own special name for him.

While he certainly hasn't been perfect, it's been really great having him around to help out with things. I knew that if I needed him to do something, he would do it. He would really go way farther than I would to try to resolve a problem.

We have been in the middle of planning a transition from Novell to Windows file servers and directory authentication, and last year's EMR implementation brought that process to a screeching halt. Things this year will be really difficult because Brian put a lot of the transitional pieces in place. Moving from those on to the new platform won't be easy, and I just really have to hope there are no big stumbling blocks along the way.

Of course we are replacing him, and the job actually has already been posted. If you know anyone local (or looking to move to Cinci) with strong troubleshooting skills, experience with Active Directory administration, and who is good with people (though admittedly calling my users "people" can be awfully kind), please forward this link on and encourage her/him to apply: www.jobsatuc.com/applicants/Central?quickFind=69176.
