Well, my semester is (mostly) over, and so I'm back in Titusville/Orlando to spend time with Lizzy. She now has round-the-clock Hospice care; they have estimated that she has about 3-5 days. I stopped to see her for a couple hours on my way here. She looks bad, but she sounds awful. Listening to her you'd think she'd pass away at any minute. She's making this horrible rasping sound and takes these long pauses between breaths. You can tell she really has to work up the energy to breathe.
What's more, she's on morphine all the time now. She gets it every three hours. She's really not herself, and spends most of the time asleep. Seeing her there, it really hit me that this is it. I mean, I knew it was, but just knowing is a lot different than really getting it. This is going to be a rough few days week.
