Al has allergies too, but I only give him a children's Claritin when his nose is running.

Conroe ISD tests in kindergarten for GT, but they only give one test, and Rhiannon who at the time probably read at a third grade level didn't score GT on it. Now she's 7 grade levels ahead of her grade in reading and about 4 ahead in math. Obviously the test wasn't accurate, and from the research I've done not all tests are. Just make sure you know what test will be administered and the criteria and such when he's tested.

When we were looking for private schools, we found the Rubicon Academy, which is in the Woodlands. It didn't look like much, and it was expensive, but I really liked their curriculum, and it was very advanced. The John Cooper School was also pretty impressive; I don't think it was a GT school, but it did have many options that are offered in public school, and it had a better curriculum than the public school. Both were not cheap, but JC was more expensive. Just to let you know what I found a few years back, and I would suspect that both are still there as they were good schools.

I should also disclose that I have a very negative opinion of CISD. The school district did not meet my daughter's needs, and it took her two years to regain her confidence from her experience there.
