Hyper belated welcomes to my lovelies at Namimori: gouenji, pomeqranate, ceasefire, eclats_de_voix and boyues! ❤ I'm so glad there are so many awesome people in this TCG, and by now we're already getting along swimmingly, and I'm glad for that! (❀◡‿◡。) I go by Bel on TCGs, but my real name is Adorabelle (... no name jokes okay). I recently graduated from junior college and hopefully, am going ( Read more... )

Hi~ Glad to have met you too! c:

Your art is so awesome! *A*!! That first piece just blows me away. But the second one is beautiful too ♥

My DW is truce and my tumblr is ceasefires. I can add you on both of them too, if you wish?

I wish I could help you out with the books, but I mainly read YA fiction lately... or just fiction to do with apocalyptic futures. Or LGBTQ coming-of-age stuff. I need to expand my horizons again @_@

aw man thank you sarah ♥!! art is something i'm still so unpolished at, but i hope to get better at it somehow. /thinks 5927 and d18 fanart

yes please! followed you on both accounts!
ALSO i read your intro post and i notice YOU LIKE SQUALO/YAMAMOTO? ahaha i've always been interested in that pairing!! i don't even know why but... that chapter when squalo knocked yamamoto out and carried him away to some deserted forest in the future arc. ROFL. i just facepalmed

i've never tried those genres, actually! ' A ' are there any great titles you like worth mentioning? i'm actually pretty narrow in my exposure so i'm willing to try anything out! o/

LOL if that's unpolished, I'd hate to think what my attempts at art are XD

I followed you back~
LOL I do! My friend sort of got me into it as a side pairing to D18 and I've since read a lot of S80-only fics and stuff. So I can blame her XD

Well, not exactly apocalyptic future but three of my favourite books = The Outlands Trilogy by Jackie French, though I'm having a hell of a time finding them myself :( As for LGBTQ stuff... lol, I mainly just go through challenged/banned book lists and find instances of people trying to ban stuff because it promotes the "homosexual agenda". Yeeeeeeeah.

ETA: Oh, and if you like I can do up a small rec list for the LGBTQ stuff, but I'll have to do it tomorrow because it's almost 2am and I have to get up early to to make my other half breakfast before work, so he can sleep in a bit more XD;;

hehe, but you have great writing skills bb! and i need to specialise in art to go to uni orz /headdesk but i know you're trying to comfort me heh *pinches cheeks* ♥ ♥

i'll take a look at those titles! wow, that's a very interesting choice of books, to read from a banned list! that's quite interesting to read to find out what kind of cultures reject specific aspects of homosexuality... never mind the fact that the internet is another ample source, cough. i would love to have that rec list! * A * i'll anticipate it! ♥ in the meanwhile, rest well bb! oh man sarah you're such a good girlfriend :">

Pffft I guess XD;; I wouldn't say I'm "great" though. But I guess most people dislike most things they produce. You are always your own greatest critic, no matter what you do :P

Lol, yeah >_> While a lot of the books on the banned and challenged list are there for a reason (books like The Anarchist Cookbook, for example), most LGBTQ literature is just challenged in the USA because people of a more conservative mindset react like this: "OMG HOMOSEXUALITY OMG SEX SOMEONE PROTECT THE CHILDREN".

Okay, here's a list to start you off!
1. Annie on My Mind by Nancy Garden
2. Getting It/Rainbow Boys/Rainbow High/Rainbow Road, all by Alex Sanchez
3. Tipping The Velvet and Fingersmith, both by Sarah Waters
4. My Heartbeat by Garret Freymann-Weyr
5. Geogrpahy Club by Brent Hartinger
6. Dance On My Grave by Aidan Chambers
7. Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan

I think that's an okay number to start with, orz. Those are just novels that I personally enjoyed ^^;

i'm with you there ^ ^ i think this is especially the case for self-initiated activities like writing and drawing, because it's so subjective and also self-driven. at any rate, faito to both of us! o/

ROFL i accidentally laughed out loud when i read your comment. you're right, dude. haha, if america is saying that that's certainly something... because sex is already a pretty desensitised topic in so many parts of the world x_x

thank you so much for the recs, i'll take them down! i've heard of boy meets boy, and i'm quite surprised to find out it was written by a guy! (for some reason, i always thought it was mainly females who have bl fantasies, ahaha)
thanks so much for taking the time to type them up sarah bb ♥ i'll prod you when i finish any of them *___* /goes to find ebooks

We'll both get better and be as awesome as we can possibly be~ o/

I always find the banned/challenged books list in the USA so funny, because I read so many of them while attending my (Catholic) primary and secondary schools. Stuff like Are you there God? It's me, Margaret, Go Ask Alice, Bridge to Terabithia, The Face on the Milk Carton... a lot. XD And then of course, there's the ones I read as an adult like American Psycho, Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird... and the smut stuff, like Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure and Lady Chatterley's Lover, lmao.

No problem! Well, David Levithan and Alex Sanchez are both gay men, so... it stands to reason XD
No problem! I hope you like at least a few of them c:

i've only actually read to kill a mockingbird out of that list, but lmao even the other titles you're pulling out hardly sound innocent. the funny thing about literature is how to differentiate "dirty" between "artful", especially when it involves mature themes like sex. it's so disappointing that just because they're between the same sex, it rarely get classified under the latter.

♥ i've already started downloading ebooks over the past few days! i hope to get to them soon o7

Well, of those titles only the first 3 were in my school library XD Oh, and To Kill A Mockingbird, but I read my mother's copy at home when I was about 11 or 12. The first is pretty much only about puberty, the second is about a teenager who falls off the rails and is full of drug abuse/sex/rape, the third always get challenged because of death being involved in the plot, and the last is about a girl who realises that the parents she knew her whole life kidnapped her from her real family.

Awesome c: I hope you do too!
