The MAGIC suitcase!!!

Mar 22, 2011 10:17

So mum and dad are down for the week and are going over to Perth for a bit cos Dad has meeting and such there.

Dad decided that he needed a new and smaller suitase last night so we went off down to K-Mart as that is the only shop open around here after 6.30pm on a monday night.

We got there and while dad was looking for a suitcase I picked up a basket that I could put in the shower to hold all my hair stuff. This basket was decent sized, maybe about the size of a regular shoe box, and for $3 I'd found a bargain.

Dad found his suitcase, nice and sturdy and red, and a couple of suitcase locks, so we headed off to the check out.

At the checkout the suitcase was a bit annoying, being big and bulky and we couldnt find the barcode for a bit. The checkout chick was nice about it though, she was probably glad for something to break up the monotony of her night. We scanned everythihng and instead of getting a bag we decided to put everything inside the suitcase instead.

I put the suitcase on the floor, opened it, put the basket and locks in and closed it again.

Then we were off home.

Well, so far nothing particularly magic or interesting has happened, but when we got home it was the stangest thing.

I had propped up the suitcase on the table so I could open it and get out my basket... but the suitcase wouldnt open.

I looked at it more closely and found that the zip of the suitcase was tied together by one of those plasic loops you get on things to stop you opening them, or sometimes tie sales tags to clothes. The loop was so small that the zips didnt even separate wide enough for me to fit my hand in the suitcase.

I stepped back. What on earth? Hadnt I, not 10 minutes before, opened and then closed those very same zips that were now TIED TOGETHER!

I began to search for other ways to open the suitcase, there was a front pocket and in there I found the two suitcase locks we had bought, but where was my basket? Tried opening the suitcase extender zips insace there was a tear or something that I had unknowingly used to access the interior of the case, but to no avail.

Finally my Dad suggested that maybe, though some feat of insanity we had managed to switch suitcases inbetween buying and getting to the car, so there was no choice other than to open the thing and see if my basket was inside.

We found some scissors and gathered around to unveil the mystery.

*Chop*

We slowly pulled appart the zips and opened the case. Lo and behold, there was my basket sitting innocently inside.

I still have no idea what or how it happened, but I am WELL freaked out!
