I have ever had moments of
spiraling winged ascent
in which lashes hovered
on the edge of wakefulness
and light trembled through
damp with tears or sweat,
and every color is embedded
in the sunrise of the senses
that is in knowing--
in knowing you.
Spiraling winged ascent
like a startled heron
lifting in a snow flurry of feathers
from the edge of some predawn marsh--
I saw you, and I--
I discovered I had wings
they were folded in languorous repose
a sleepy Venus, and awaiting feathers--
you are my feathers,
soft downy wisps of euphoria--
the euphoria of knowing you.
Like a startled heron,
I spring into the sunrise
light crystallizing on grey limbs
trees who spent the night together
entangled and somber in the hush--
hush, world, hush so I can see this sunrise
the bloom to humble every flower
in every secret valley
this sunrise of the senses--
the sun comes up
and I have been a sleeping bird
awakening, beckoning, ascending
into the sun
into knowing you.
art and crap,
curiouser and curiouser,
writing,
daydream believer,
creativity,
nanowrimo,
love,
happy nikki is happy,
hopeless romantic,
following my bliss
