As in, I can't log in, I can get the login to "log in", but once to the page, I get a session reset or some such in FireFox, Data connection diagnoses in IE9, and No data in Chrome.
Did a soft reset, and then a hard reset, nothing seemed to allow me to the settings screens and it's an internal web page that is accessed by the IP address itself. They give a default user name and password so they appear to work, unless this is another dud modem.
BTW, it's the exact same model as my previous modem, the Zyxel PK5001Z due to the service that is available in my neck of the woods. Yes, I bought it, It only cost me $99, but had 'em stick it on the bill to pay later.
Then headed over to BellSquare Mall to the Verizon store, and yes, it's a full fledged corp store and bought an Otter Defender series case in black as they only had a light purple or black that allows for protection and it comes with a holster that the phone snaps into. It's on the bulky side as these things go so may return it, don't know, and yes, it cost $50, and again, it went on my bill. I have 14 days to exchange and will go down to the downtown store tomorrow and see what they have currently. I was served by a cute goateed cub that may well be straight, but then again. He did have another ring on his right hand, and what looked like a wedding band on his left so who knows. Again, very cute and friendly.
Got home and the modem could not see the internet, but a call to tech support and the serial # of the device got that solved, but we could not get access to the settings app within it.
I'm to try again tomorrow and see if it fixes itself, otherwise, it's back to the store and a fresh modem exchanged. Otherwise, it's call tech support, once more.
Overall, not a bad day, and just beautiful outside, we did get to the low to mid 70's, and it was mighty comfy out there.
I am now chowing down on a quite late dinner of a salad that is romain lettace, some yellow bell pepper, some shrimp sauteed until bright pink, an avocado that's been drizzled with lemon juice (to keep it from browning), two roma tomatoes and part of a red onion that I let sit in vinegar to reduce its bite some and then used it for the dressing by adding some olive oil to it, some salt and pepper, some marjoram, oregano, and basil and whisked good and then tossed. It is delicious even if a huge bowl full, and I'll most likely eat most of it. :-)
So that is how my Saturday ended up going.
