A couple of things

Before I make a quick run to the store. A salad me thinks.

Anyway, wanted to say, having the faster DSL speed is nice. I can stream at least 720 HD video without buffering via YouTube.

So that's good, but phone is still outsville.

Been in communication with greatbearmd on this and he thinks its a hardware failure on their end, or in the building, but not in my apartment, though the tech guy did say it sounded like a higher voltage short than a typical short of say, a dead spider, like a device has shorted, or off hook, that's what it looks like. anyway, I did try to dial my landline with the call box at the front door, and got nothing. Not even the sound of dropping right to the my VM, or perhaps I just didn't hear it over the highway noise. Anyway, we'll know on Saturday when the tech guy returns. And I think I'll take some time and sort out the desk and get it straightened back up. It's not bad but...

And by tomorrow, we'll largely be up and running, finally on Trac, the new scanning tool we've been trying to get up and running, and part of that was the contract to get it setup, especially since our contract with Veutura had to be temporarily extended so we could scan in packages for a time, but only 2 computers can access it due to license agreements. Trac is web based and thus any computer can be used to access it, and once it's all scanned in, and with our specific palms, it'll ONLY see the packages for our building, which means we won't need to scan out for delivery, it's all there already. So when I left work, Tony, our boss was in the process of undoing the old printers and installing the new ones so by tomorrow, I think we'll be online with the new system, for the most part as the shipping stations won't have their new PC's as yet since they are not fully setup yet.

The reason? we've lost two other scanners recently. Doug's has stopped working, and William's works, but won't sync anymore, Todd's has stopped working a few months ago, like January, or February and the few remaining scanners are just hanging in there, some barely. I begin to use my new one tomorrow, yay! About time too!

So when we go to deliver, all we have to do is call up the package, hand it to them, they sign and it's done. This'll give us so much more than the old system, it's not funny.

And the latest on the possible transition to a print site, I'm leaning on doing it, the falderal on being able to order order, then not able to order paper is just make me pissed off since it also pisses off the customer when they have run out and we have to stretch out the orders in the sometimes vain hope of it going through. Lord knows we try and right now, I need Hammermill paper, but none anywhere to be used as it's all used up since we've not been able to order it, and we've checked at two other buildings that had excess, and they are out, though one case in the Tower, but it's hands off.

I think tomorrow is the earliest we can chat with Kari about this and see if we can get going on it. The one thing I still have a concern about is the income, will it go down? It better not, at best, I hope it goes up, even if not by much, as it might help with the rent situation I'm in by giving me a bit more to use towards that.

Anyway, that's that for today, and now it's time I make that run to the store and come back and wash a few dishes before I give up and sit in a tired stupor the rest of the evening.

Ciao!
