Mos Def - The Ecstatic
Hey check it out! Famous TV actor Mos Def made a rap album! Ohkay this really doesn't stand out to me as a particularly amazing "Positive Rap" album in the first place, which places it squarely as a mediocre entry in a very tired genre. I mean, I think they lost some cred once Common started showing up in Gap ads and Mos Def appeared on a very special episode of "House." Plus hello, black president! That battle is over dude. We won. Yay. You can stop making mediocre atonal rap songs about injustice now.
