but i wonder, what is "goth" then? because, tupically speaking, if i think of goth i immediately come to the "goth" (and i actually do put quotations around it everytime... hahaha) that you have spoken of.
several (like five) years ago when i went through my so-called goth stage (i'm definately over stereotypes... categorize me, i dare you. because honestly you cant. i dont fit in anywhere. i'm a misfit *sob*) and compare it to the goth that is today, it is very different and somehow the same. of course, i didnt have hot topic. no one did. did that make me "more" goth than the kids that are "goth" today?
anyway, back to the idea i started with. do these underground industrial-whatever the fuck they are- bands that only a "select few" (which is actually a lot more than you think) listen to really set the mold for what goth is and not what kids think it is
( ... )
i dont understand.....but thats probably me just being dumb..... "poser goth" is just my word for categorizing them. i dont have anything against these people i think some of em are cool. these "goths dont even listen to "goth music. last i recalled...which was a long time ago there was a certain type of "goth" music. that i thought sucked. eh oh well. i lost my point fuck it... now im gonna categorize you as a....misfit =) there i categorized you! now try and categorize me...i think i fit in the jock category....
All it is doing is putting people in the boxes that society has built around most. You are forced into thinking that you are part of something. Outcasts are either put in that 'goth' or 'punk' box, even if there is no such thing as either. The popular kids are put in either that 'prep' or 'jock' box. And the extremly smart kids into 'geek' or 'nerd'. It's just easier for us to find someplace willing to take us in. Either that or to justify the reason of hating another person. If we didn't have these boxes, then maybe we wouldn't have so much hate. But now that we have been domesticated to the point of no return, we will look upon it as living our lives how society wants us to. Wanting so much out of the little that we have.
i dont even understand what the hell i said, because right now its almost midnight and i'm actually competent because i didnt just wake up. i'm so confused...
you're such a jock, i mean how do you find time to even reply to my jibberish with all those sports you play?
i like some of the "goths" too. but i also laugh at a lot of them. i... i cant help it.
