"too faster, too furiouser"

Last night we went to the dollar theater and saw "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift." I was expecting it to be a really lame movie with no plot (plus I hate vin diesel), and, well, it was definitely a movie about the cars. But I did find myself enjoying it. Between the Tokyo sights & culture and the pretty cars that went zoom zoom (as well as the gansta music which i found myself enjoying slightly), it was an entertaining flick. There were plenty of driving moves that made me cringe or my jaw drop. And there was a scene where the new-to-Japan American kid wakes up in his new home and finds on a hanger next to him the standard black mandarin-collar Japanese high school uniform. At which point Joe, Liz and I all laughed out loud (we were the only ones that laughed at that part). And there were yakuza too. So really, not a bad flick, especially for $1.50. :) Don't know if I'd pay $10 to see it, but a dollar I can do. And would do again. Just for the fun of it. Oh, wait, yes, I would definitely pay $1.50 to see it again, if only to see sexy Satoshi Tsumabuki in his black suit give the signal to "go" in the first race between American-kid-with-bad-southern-accent and the Drift King of Tokyo. (see icon) Hell yeahs.
