Illness, websites, football, iPods and more

I can't seem to get into the swing of updating regularly any more...

Despite everyone in my office being laid up with the 'flu and Roz having some sort of virus all last week (she's ok now), I've managed not to succumb so far. I put this down to my having the constitution of an ox.

I got my geek on yesterday and rejigged my website so that now it's syndicating loads of feeds from different places like flickr and del.icio.us, all handled via some xml config files. The motivation was that I am meaning to do a project that needs to do lots of XSL stuff under PHP4, so I wanted an excuse to remind myself how to use the older DOMXML functions.

I'm thinking of imitating alasdair and having a separate workblog, because I often find interesting programming things I'd like to write about but don't bother because I reckon most of my friends page would be bored to tears.

On Saturday we went to Millwall to watch Crewe play. The atmosphere at the New Den is pretty intimidating but almost all of the noise comes from a tiny group of fans. I can't imagine what it's like to be a normal Millwall supporter and see your own players get racially abused by a bunch of idiots in the corner.

After the game we went over to Blackheath for the fireworks, which were very exciting indeed. Had a good curry beforehand, but I've never seen an Indian restaurant that full of bloody children! I'm told it's because bonfire night is aimed at them, but surely that can't be true?

To stave off buying a new iPod I got a bigger (512MB) memory card for my phone. It's quite good actually, I can fit 3-4 albums plus a few episodes of TV shows and whatever contacts/photos I had on the phone before. I quite like watching Seinfeld on the tube in the mornings now.
